Demon Slayer Wiki

Yoshiwara ( (よし) (わら) Yoshiwara?) is a district located in Tokyo, Japan, and it serves as the main location of the Entertainment District Arc. It is a red light district meaning a concentration of prostitution and sex-oriented businesses can be found there.

History

It is not known when the Yoshiwara district was established in Tokyo. However, the location is first mentioned when Tengen Uzui was investigating the report of a Demon within the district. After failing to gather intel while visiting as a customer, he sends his three wives Makio, Suma and Hinatsuru to try and gather information.[1]

After he loses contact with his wives, Tengen travels to the district with the Demon Slayers to try to infiltrate a second time. There are three known brothels (or houses) within the district: Tokito House, Kyogoku House, and the Ogimoto House. Yoshiwara also has a subsector known as Kirimise where underperforming or sick courtesans are sent to live.

Tengen drops off Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira at each respective house (disguised as girls). With each boy doing their own independent investigation, Tengen leaves them to observe Yoshiwara for Demon activity.
