Falling ( () ちる Ochiru?) is the one hundred and thirty-ninth chapter of Koyoharu Gotōge's Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Summary

The chapter begins with a narration of details regarding the life of Kagaya. It’s mentioned that at the time of his death, he was 23 and he had visited the graves of the deceased slayers up until his disease had left him bedridden.

The narrator is revealed to be Gyomei Himejima, the Rock Hashira, and he reveals the circumstances regarding their first encounter. He notes that Kagaya was a kind of person who spoke in a way people always wanted and that his solemness never changed, from the moment they met until his death. In addition to their special voices, the Ubuyashiki family’s instinct was tremendous (Kagaya was able to foresee that Muzan will attack in 5 days and made himself a decoy).

We then turn back to the present with Gyomei decapitating Muzan but just as Kagaya predicted, Muzan will not die no matter how many times you cut his head off which means the only way to destroy him is with the sun. Muzan used his blood demon art to attack Gyomei but he countered with his Stone Breathing. Soon the other Hashira also arrived and immediately, Gyomei revealed that the one he is fighting is Muzan and that he will not die even if you cut his head off. The Hashira, given that it was their first time seeing him was shocked at first but proceeded to attack him with their respective breaths – including Tanjiro who was with Giyu during the explosion. All of them attacked Muzan from all sides, but before they could land a blow, they all fell into the Infinity Castle and were separated.

While falling, Muzan mocked the hunters and proclaimed that he will slaughter them all tonight. Tanjiro rebutted that it was Muzan who will be going to hell and that he will defeat him. The chapter ends with Muzan daring Tanjiro to go and get him is he can and thus, the biggest battle was about to start.
