The Wind Breathing ( (かぜ) () (きゅう) Kaze no kokyū?) is one of the five Breathing Styles derived directly from the Sun Breathing. The Wind Breathing is comprised of many sword techniques that utilize the air around them to generate powerful whirlwind and tornado attacks that can be used for both offense and defense.

The Breathing Style was originally developed & taught by Yoriichi Tsugikuni to an unknown student, who could not master the Sun Breathing and was instead trained in a specific alternative breathing style to better suit his student's specific strengths and weaknesses eventually becoming an independent breathing all together. The same is applicable for all the other main Branch Breathing Styles.[1]

The Beast Breathing, despite being independently developed by Inosuke Hashibira, is a derivative of the Wind Breathing, so it can be assumed that both styles use an enhanced sense of touch in their techniques.
